Summary
We are seeking a knowledgeable and customer-focused Rental Equipment Consultant to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for assisting clients with their equipment rental needs, providing expert advice, and ensuring a seamless rental experience. This position involves visits to customer sites and office work.
Responsibilities
Sales and Business Development
- Identify and target potential clients through research, networking, and cold calling, within the assigned territory.
- Identify opportunities to upsell and cross sell additional products and services and provide tailored solutions.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers to encourage repeat business and referrals
Customer Engagement
- Greet and assist clients in person, over the phone, and via email, providing information on available rental equipment.
- Assess customer needs and recommend appropriate equipment solutions.
- Provide detailed explanations of equipment operation, safety protocols, and rental terms.
- Provide exceptional customer service, addressing client inquiries, concerns.
Contract and Documentation
- Prepare quotations, rental agreement and other necessary documentation.
- Review and explain rental terms and conditions to customers.
- Collaborate with the sales team and other departments to ensure seamless order processing, billing and delivery.
Additional Responsibilities
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
- Flexibility to take on new tasks as business needs evolve.
- Assist with special projects and other duties as needed.
Qualifications & Skills
- Proven experience in equipment rental and customer service roles, preferably in the heavy equipment construction industry.
- Strong knowledge and technical understanding of various rental heavy equipment and machinery used in construction, including operation, maintenance and specifications.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to build and maintain long-term customer relationships.
- Self-motivated, with the ability to work independently and manage a territory effectively.
- Time management and organize skills to handle multiple priorities and deadlines
- Problem-Solving skills and ability to handle customer complaints professionally and efficiently.
- Proficiency in computer use and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Valid driver’s license and passport.
- Written and spoken in French and English (as some of our suppliers are not native to Quebec, and some interprovince exchanges can occur).
Education
- High School Diploma is preferred, but not required based on experience.

- Competitive base salary with commission and performance-based incentives
(guaranteed salary the first year)
