Summary
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Heavy Equipment Salesman to join our dynamic sales team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for promoting and selling JCB & AVANT range of heavy equipment to potential and existing clients, primarily within the construction, and industrial sectors. This position involves being on the road to meet clients, demonstrate equipment, office work and travelling to trainings and tradeshow and may require overnight stays.
Responsibilities
Sales and Business Development
- Identify and target potential clients through research, networking, and cold calling, within the assigned territory.
- Develop and maintain relationships with new and existing customers to understand their needs and provide tailored solutions.
- Conduct product demonstrations and presentations to highlight the features and benefits of our heavy equipment.
Customer Engagement
- Schedule and attend client meetings, site visits, and trade shows to promote products and services.
- Provide exceptional customer service, addressing client queries and resolving any issues promptly.
Sales Administration
- Prepare and present sales proposals, quotations, and contracts to clients.
- Maintain accurate records of sales activities, customer interactions, and transactions.
- Collaborate with the sales team and other departments to ensure seamless order processing, billing and delivery.
Additional Responsibilities
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
- Flexibility to take on new tasks as business needs evolve.
- Assist with special projects and other duties as needed.
Qualifications & Skills
- Proven experience in sales, preferably in the heavy equipment construction industry.
- Strong knowledge and technical understanding of heavy equipment and machinery used in construction, including operation, maintenance and specifications.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to build and maintain long-term customer relationships.
- Self-motivated, with the ability to work independently and manage a territory effectively.
- Time management and organize skills to handle multiple priorities and deadlines
- Problem-Solving skills and ability to handle customer complaints professionally and efficiently.
- Proficiency in computer use and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Valid driver’s license and passport.
- Written and spoken in French and English (as some of our suppliers are not native to Quebec, and some interprovince exchanges can occur).
Education
- High School Diploma is preferred, but not required based on experience.

- Competitive base salary with commission and performance-based incentives
(guaranteed salary the first year)
