Summary
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Heavy Equipment Salesman to join our dynamic sales team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for promoting and selling JCB & AVANT range of heavy equipment to potential and existing clients, primarily within the construction, and industrial sectors. This position involves being on the road to meet clients, demonstrate equipment, office work and travelling to trainings and tradeshow and may require overnight stays.
Responsibilities
Sales and Business Development
- Identify and target potential clients through research, networking, and cold calling, within the assigned territory.
- Develop and maintain relationships with new and existing customers to understand their needs and provide tailored solutions.
- Conduct product demonstrations and presentations to highlight the features and benefits of our heavy equipment.
Customer Engagement
- Schedule and attend client meetings, site visits, and trade shows to promote products and services.
- Provide exceptional customer service, addressing client queries and resolving any issues promptly.
Sales Administration
- Prepare and present sales proposals, quotations, and contracts to clients.
- Maintain accurate records of sales activities, customer interactions, and transactions.
- Collaborate with the sales team and other departments to ensure seamless order processing, billing and delivery.
Additional Responsibilities
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
- Flexibility to take on new tasks as business needs evolve.
- Assist with special projects and other duties as needed.
Qualifications & Skills
- Proven experience in sales, preferably in the heavy equipment construction industry.
- Strong knowledge and technical understanding of heavy equipment and machinery used in construction, including operation, maintenance and specifications.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to build and maintain long-term customer relationships.
- Self-motivated, with the ability to work independently and manage a territory effectively.
- Time management and organize skills to handle multiple priorities and deadlines
- Problem-Solving skills and ability to handle customer complaints professionally and efficiently.
- Proficiency in computer use and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Valid driver’s license and passport.
- Written and spoken in French and English (as some of our suppliers are not native to Quebec, and some interprovince exchanges can occur).
Education
- High School Diploma is preferred, but not required based on experience.

Repair and ensure the proper functioning of small rental tools and those of customers (electric and combustion engine)
Inspects small equipment upon return;
Prepares new tools for use;
Performs regular and preventive maintenance on small engines;
Practical experience in electricity, hydraulics and welding;
Requirements and working condition:
DEP in small engine mechanics or other related studies;
2 to 3 years of experience in tool repair;
Must read, write and speak French & English;

3 to 5 years of experience in repairing Compressors, generator, nacelles, forklift, heavy equipment, electric and gas scissors, electric and gas heaters, tower lights and water pumps.
Hold a valid driver’s license, Class 5;
Bilingualism (spoken and written)
Must have basic tools. To be discussed during the interview.

Main functions:
• Check, adjust, correct, assemble and disassemble any components or systems on motor vehicles
• Do all the preventive maintenance required on the vehicles
• Performs other related tasks upon request.
Requirements
• Have a diploma of professional studies (DEP) in heavy machinery mechanics;
• Have a PEP (preventive maintenance program) card issued by the Société de l ‘assurance automobile du Québec (asset);
• Be able to diagnose mechanical, electrical and hydraulic problems and repair any kind of motorized equipment;
• Possess a class 5 driver’s license that meets the requirements of the Société de l ‘assurance automobile du Québec;
• Knowledge in JCB an asset
